FRANKLIN, TENNESSEE

 From a humble farm town to one of the top 10 hottest US Cities to visit in 2007, Franklin Tennessee has come a long way.  Beginning in 1799 as an agricultural center, this city in the heart of Williamson County has held its rich Southern heritage. Named for Benjamin Franklin, a close personal friend of Dr. Williamson, a member of the Continental Congress and for whom Williamson County was named, this city that was once devastated following the Civil War and now thrives as an award winning destination for both travel and homestead.

 Downtown Franklin, comprised of a beautiful 15 block historic district, offers true Southern hospitality with an old fashioned Main street feel and is brimming with over  200 years of rich history. Unique to Franklin is the ability to preserve its history and work towards the future. With an emphasis on history, but progressive planning, Franklin has been able to attract large corporations to its tax base-including the recent addition of the Nissan Corporate Headquarters. The Cool Springs Shopping area and surrounding shopping centers is one of the largest shopping venues in all of Middle Tennessee. Franklin has also become a haven for Film and Theatre turning out several well known actors and film studios. Franklin has even played host to two recent Hollywood Film premieres: Friday Night Lights and Elizabethtown.
